Since we’ve made it this far, let’s get into some advanced setup options and take a look at the not already mentioned things you can do to give your site some extra kick.

Theme Selection

Don’t like your theme? No problem, at the time of this writing, there are currently over 1,200 free themes for download at WordPress.org and more premium theme sites than you can shake a stick at.

Utilizing the theme importer located in Appearance > Themes, you can choose from some of the more customizable, pre-packaged LoadedPress options, or click over to ‘Install Themes’ where you will be prompted to either upload a new theme directly from your computer or you can install a new theme directly from the WordPress servers. You can even preview new themes from your dashboard before installing anything.

Then just simply click the Activate button and you’re set. Your new template will replace the old one as far as appearance goes, but you’ll always be able to revert back to the previous (or any other existing) templates in your templates directory – all while your content remains unchanged.

Content Feed Syndication

Having trouble finding something to write about? Or want to get a conversation started on your own site? Try the content feeds, located in Social Media > LWP Feed Burner. From here you may import and syndicate information from any site that has a feed.

Just add a campaign, give it a title, enter a feed url (for example, http://www.loadedpress.com/community/blog/feed/ ), assign it to a category, and import away. You may import as much or as little information as you like. Want to know more about how content feeds can be used to grow your content and social interaction? Advertising

Setting up your advertisements is just as easy. Click Ads from your Dashboard to manage your advertisements. To set up an ad, select Ads > Create New. Once set up, go into your widgets (Appearance > Widgets) and drag your Advertisements widget to the widget area where you wish it to appear.

You may also insert an ad into any page or post by clicking ‘Insert Ad…’ and selecting the relevant advertisement from the dropdown menu in your post / page editor.

Photo Gallery

Q.
What’s a blog without a photo gallery?
A.
Kinda boring. That’s why we’ve packaged in the NextGen Gallery and Billboard. NextGen is available from Gallery in your Dashboard links. Just click in and follow the steps.
1. Create a Gallery
2. Upload Images (either from .zip file, images folder, or select individual images from your computer)
3. Insert the shortcode ([Gallery not found]) into any post or page

For managing your social network icons, or other images you want to display on your website, the Billboard plugin gives you easy controls to manage this. You can create images, links, icons, or other sets of information to display easily on your website. By default in LoadedPress, the plugin comes pre-installed with the popular social icons which you can easily link to your site. To explore the Billboard tool, visit the Appearance > Billboard option in your administration area.

Adding Users

It’s easy to keep control of your site, while allowing contributions from others. The Users panel allows for creation and addition of multiple users under multiple roles that have specific rights grants. Click Users from your admin panel and let your newly hired PR guy write your press releases and other content… while not having to worry about him breaking something at in the Administrator level. You can create any number of roles and permissions using the “Capability Manager” tool giving you any set of options for your team that you may want.

And much, much, more…
